The Little Unicorn story began with our Broadmeadow site in 1993, providing care and educational programs for local children.
We now operate from our CBD location at Honeysuckle and our new centre in Charlestown.
We have grown from humble beginnings to become a much-loved and trusted extended family member to many local families. Unlike large franchise-operated centres, The Little Unicorn is family-owned and locally operated, so we live and work in the communities we serve. We recruit and retain high quality early childhood practitioners, and pride ourselves on providing the kind of supportive environment required to keep our staff turnover to a minimum. Our staff stay for the same reasons our families do: we put what is best for the children at the centre of everything we do.
Meet Our Management Team
Amy
General Manager
Amy is one of the longest serving members of The Little Unicorn Family. She joined us in 2008, while completing her studies at University. Amy began in our Broadmeadow centre, where she worked closely with Fiona in day-to-day operations. She then went on to establish our Second service at Honeysuckle in 2010. Since this time Amy has enjoyed growing and developing our Honeysuckle centre to be a vital part of The Little Unicorn family. After a 12 month period of leave to start her own family, Amy now operates in an overall management role between our two centres and thoroughly enjoys this challenge and new position. Amy is passionate about continual improvement, ensuring our services are continually evolving and changing to be the best we can be. Amy takes pride in knowing that staff and families alike feel valued, supported and part of The Little Unicorn family.
During her own time Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

Play is the work of the child.
I love the little bonds they have shared. I never thought I would see a bond as beautiful as the one Stella shared last year with Jade, until Chelsea! Stella walks around at home calling her, and she’s the first person she says whilst walking to her class. The way all the educators treat our children, I can’t even describe. I’ve never felt right about working and putting my kids in daycare until we came across The Little Unicorn!!!
I love the fact that I pick up my babies and they are always laughing or smiling and have had the absolute best day!
“Our four-year-old daughter, Katie, started at the Broadmeadow centre in January after moving from interstate.
The staff has been very welcoming. Anne always greets us with a smile and the girls in the room seem to genuinely care about her and her well-being.
The lady in the kitchen has been very accommodating to help Katie settle in and we appreciate it. Taleesha seems to go above and beyond in her interactions with us and we feel that Katie is truly supported in her learning.”
